August 27, 2012- City of Buffalo- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Cheektowaga man for felony criminal weapon possession by the Sheriff’s Strike Force Unit in the City of Buffalo.
Erie County Sheriff’s Strike Force Deputies Matt Fuqua and Jason Breinlinger stopped a vehicle on Rodney Ave. in the City of Buffalo, driven by 19 y/o Keeon D. Colvin of Cheektowaga, for illegal window tint. Upon speaking with Colvin, an odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle. Colvin admitted there was some marijuana debris in the ashtray, but there wasn’t anymore in the vehicle and insisted the Deputies search his vehicle for more.
Deputies complied with Colvin and searched his vehicle, and although no more marijuana was located, a loaded, modified “High Point” make .45 caliber rifle, with a cut-off barrel and stock, resembling a large handgun, was located in the trunk.
Colvin was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree(C Felony), 3rd degree(D Felony) and traffic tickets for the tinted windows and his unlicensed driving status.
Colvin was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held pending his arraignment in the City of Buffalo Court.
