Buffalo, NY- Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard is announcing the early morning arrest this morning of 30 year old Justin Crouse of Salamanca, NY. He was taken into custody without incident at around 5:00 AM this morning. He has been charged with second degree murder in the death of three year old Gage Seneca.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 6, 2013 on Sulpher Springs Road on the Seneca Nation Indian Reservation.
Detectives were called to the scene @ approximately 8:19 AM yesterday morning after the victim’s mother called 911 to report her son was not breathing. The 3 year old was taken to Lake Shore Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead minutes later @ 8:45 AM.
An autopsy was conducted on boy, who just had his 3rd birthday a week ago. It was determined that he died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Crouse will be arraigned on the murder charges later this afternoon in Town of Brant Court.
The investigation continues.
