Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Clarence man for Criminal Mischief and Reckless Endangerment following an incident at a local variety store.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputies Kristin Rozycki and Chris Soluri responded to a Town of Clarence variety store for a report that a known customer, 47 year old Otto C. Reinhardt of Clarence Center Rd. in Clarence, was acting belligerent in the store. Reinhardt was refused service, at which point he ripped a sign down and left the store. As the clerk went outside to confront him about the sign, Reinhardt drove off in his vehicle, almost striking the clerk.
Reinhardt was located a short time later at his residence in Clarence and subsequently arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree and Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd degree. He was taken to the Erie County Holdind Center and held pending arraignment in the Town of Clarence Court.
