January 17, 2013- Town of Cheektowaga- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that a routine traffic stop early this morning in the Town of Cheektowaga resulted in the arrest of a Clarence man for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
Deputies Simon Biegasiewicz and David Zamorek were on routine patrol when they stopped a vehicle for failing to signal and driving without headlights. It was determined that the driver of the vehicle, Robert Krahling Jr., age 28, of Clarence was intoxicated. It was also determined that his driver’s license was suspended.
Mr. Krahling was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree, a Class E Felony; Driving While Intoxicated, a Class A Misdemeanor; and other violations of the vehicle and traffic law. He refused to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol content.
During the investigation it was also determined that Mr. Krahling and a passenger in the vehicle may have been involved in an earlier, unrelated incident in the Town of Cheektowaga. He was subsequently released on traffic tickets, and turned over to the Town of Cheektowaga Police Department.
