Clarence Man Arrested on Felony DWI and other Charges

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Clarence man on Felony charges after a traffic stop by Sheriff’s Road Patrols on Tuesday night.

While on patrol in Clarence at approximately 9:19PM, Deputies Lee Richard and Tim Coulombe arrested John B. Sparshott, 67, of Clarence and charged him with Felony DWI (due to a prior conviction for DWI in 2013), Failure to Use an Interlock Device, and Unsafe Tires after they stopped his vehicle while investigating a citizen complaint of erratic driving on Main Street near Strickler Road.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .12%.  He was processed at the Clarence Station and released on appearance tickets.

This was the 87th DWI arrest by Sheriff’s patrols in 2014.
