COLLINS MAN ARRESTED FOR DWI IN TOWN OF CONCORD


September 16, 2013- Sheriff Tim Howard is announcing the arrest of a Collins man for Driving While Intoxicated.

 While on patrol in District 4, Deputy Todd Jones and Deputy Tim Colling, both of the Sheriff's Colden sub-station responded to a reported 1 car auto accident.  Their investigation resulted in the arrest of Steven B. Minton, age 26 of Collins for Driving While Intoxicated and traffic related charges.  Mr. Minton was initally cooperative, but upon arriving at the Sheriff's Springville sub-station becoming disorderly and uncooperative.  Mr. Minton refused to submit to a chemical test.

 Mr. Minton was arraigned by Town of Colden Judge Montgomery.  Mr. Minton refused to leave the patrol vehicle to attend arraignment, so Judge Montgomery arraigned him in the patrol vehicle.  Mr. Minton was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center on $1000 cash bail or $2000 bond for further proceedings.

 This was the 223rd DWI arrest of 2013 for Sheriff's patrols.
