DEPUTIES ARREST 2 INDIVIDUALS ON DWI CHARGES- IN LESS THAN 2 HOURS
Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard is announcing the arrest of two individuals last night in two separate DWI accidents in less than two hours. The first arrest occurred in Sardinia. Charged with DWI is 42 year old John P. McKnight of Cattaraugus Street, Springville. Deputy George Avery arrested the suspect after McKnight fled the scene following a one car crash near Vanslyke and Creek Roads in Sardinia at about 9:15 P.M. last night.
McKnight failed several field sobriety tests. He was also charged with several traffic infractions including leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
About an hour and a half later in the Town of Wales, Deputy Eric Szkatulski arrested 41 year old Heather Czechowski of Creekview Drive, West Seneca, and charged her with DWI at the intersection of Big Tree and Two Rod Roads after witnessing her vehicle being driven erratically.
Czechowski was also charged with several vehicle infractions including operating a motor vehicle with broken glass; failure to keep right; and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on the highway.
Both were released on appearance tickets.
