August 2, 2013- Buffalo, NY- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of three individuals for various charges in separate incidents during increased patrols in County Parks on Wednesday night.
While on patrol at 6:55PM in the Black Rock Canal Park, which was formerly referred to as the Ontario Street Boat Ramp or Cornelius Park, Deputies Eric Szkatulski and Justin Bauer arrested Joseph E. Tepley (20) of Tonawanda and charged him with Narcotics Possession (narcotic pills) and marihuana possession after investigating a suspicious vehicle complaint. He was processed and released on appearance tickets for Buffalo City Court.
At approximately 10:06PM, Deputies Szkatulski and Bauer arrested Dyln G. Tingue (40) of Machias and charged him with Narcotics Possession (Pills), Driving with a Suspended License, and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle in the Park for Driving With No Headlights. He was processed and released on appearance tickets for Buffalo City Court.
At approximately 10:51PM, Deputies Szkatulski and Bauer also arrested Sam Carson (43) of Buffalo and charged him with Felony Aggravated DWI, Trespassing and Open Alcoholic Beverages in vehicle after investigating a vehicle in the park after hours. A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .18%, over twice the legal limit. The Felony charge was filed due to a prior conviction for DWI within the last ten years. He was processed and released on appearance tickets for Buffalo City Court.
The DWI arrest marked the 200th arrest for DWI by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in 2013
