August 16, 2012- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of an East Aurora resident for multiple charges after a short pursuit by Sheriff’s Road Patrols on Thursday night.
Deputies Simon Biegasiewicz and Rich O’Neil responded to the area of Rt. 400 and Jamison Road in Elma to investigate a citizen complaint of a vehicle driving erratically southbound on Rt. 400 and then striking barrels in the construction zone at the Jamison Road exit. The Deputies subsequently located the vehicle on Maple Street near Girard Ave. in East Aurora. The driver attempted to avoid being stopped and led the Deputies on a short pursuit that ended on Riley Street near Main Street. After stopping the vehicle, the Deputies arrested the driver: Robert E. Brennan (36) of East Aurora and charged him with DWI, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment and multiple traffic infractions. He was transported to the Elma Substation where he submitted to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content, results were .15%, almost twice the legal limit. After processing, he was transported to the Holding Center on $250 bail.
