July 14, 2013-  Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two local residents in separate incidents on Sunday night.


     While on patrol in Elma at approximately 9:28PM, Deputies Rich O’Neil and John Szezepanski arrested Philip J. Grillo (35) of Buffalo and charged him with DWI, Reckless Driving, Speeding (74 in a 45), and Open alcoholic beverages after stopping his vehicle on Jamison Road.  A citizen had alerted Deputies to Grillo’s reckless operation, and the Deputies stopped him a short time later.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .13%.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets for Elma Court. 


     While on patrol in Concord at approximately 3:06AM, Deputies Don Hoelscher and Mike Sluberski were called to investigate a personal injury car crash on Rt. 240 near Middle Road, where a car ran into and knocked down a utility pole.  After investigating the crash, the Deputies determined that the car was stolen.  They subsequently arrested the driver:  Jamie E. Schiefer (20) of West Valley and charged him with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.  Schiefer was transported by ambulance and treated for an assortment of apparently non – life threatening injuries at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.  He was processed at the Hospital and released on appearance tickets for his charges in Concord Town Court.
