October 13, 2012 - Sheriff Tim Howard reports the arrest of a Town of Amherst woman for DWI.
Deputy Mathew Krypel observed a vehicle operated by a 23 year old woman from the Town of Amherst do a U-turn in front of the South Grand Island Bridge toll booths and proceed to drive southbound on the northbound I 190. The driver was identified as Jessica R. Lemmon. After failing several field sobriety tests, Ms. Lemmon was taken into custody and transported to the Erie County Sheriff's Grand Island substation where she was administered a chemical breath test.
The test revealed Ms. Lemmon's blood BAC to be .17%. Ms. Lemmon was arrested for DWI and several other vehicle and traffic charges returnable to the Town of Tonawanda at a future date.
