Erie County Sheriff Timothy B Howard reports the early morning arrest of a Town of Darien man for DWI following a traffic stop in the Town of Alden. Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Gene Nati was on patrol and observed a vehicle driving recklessly on Genesee Rd. in the Town of Alden. The vehicle was subsequently stopped by Deputy Nati and upon further investigation and field sobriety tests, found the driver, 41 y/o Scott L. McDonald of Alleghany Rd. in Darien Center, to be intoxicated.
McDonald was arrested and charged with DWI and numerous other traffic violations. McDonald refused all further chemical breath testing and was later released to a third party on appearance tickets for the Alden Town Court at a later date. McDonald's vehicle was towed from the scene.
This was the 33rd DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.
