September 24, 2013- Sheriff Tim Howard reports that at about 3:20 PM, deputies responded to a call of a property damage accident on Hillcrest Avenue in the Town of Boston. Upon arrival the deputies found that a vehicle left the roadway, went across a lawn of a house and struck a well cover. The driver was located passed out behind the wheel of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle refused to complete field sobriety tests at the accident scene.
Hamburg resident Keith S. Mandeville (age 36) was subsequently arrested for DWI. A check of his driver's license revealed that his license was suspended pending prosecution for a separate DWI arrest. As a result of this suspension, Mandeville was also charged with Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle. Mandeville refused to submit to a breath test to determine his BAC.
He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment. This was the 226th DWI arrest this year by the Erie COunty Sheriff's Office.
