Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two people for Driving While Intoxicated by Sheriff’s road patrol Deputies Thursday night.
While on patrol in Clarence at approximately 11:45PM, Deputy Lee Richard arrested Maria Navarro (25) of Williamsville and charged her with Aggravated DWI and traffic infractions after stopping her vehicle for erratic operation on Connection Drive in Clarence. A breath test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .22%, almost three times the legal limit. She was processed at the Goodrich Road sub-station and released on appearance tickets.
Following a report of a vehicle leaving the roadway and striking multiple mailboxes and a utility pole, Deputy Theresa Nietzel arrested David A. Rubeck (41) of Angola for DWI. At approximately 12:15 AM, Deputies responded to Gowanda State Road in the Town of North Collins and found that Mr. Rubeck had fled. After a brief search of the area he was found hiding in the woods by Deputy Ken Achtyl. Among Rubeck’s many charges are Felony DWI and Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. The DWI was a felony due to his having a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years. The Aggravated Unlicensed Operation is a felony due to the fact that he was driving under the influence of alcohol while his license was revoked for a previous alcohol related offense. A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .10%. Mr. Rubeck was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment in North Collins Town Court. His charges include four felonies, two misdemeanors, and four infractions.
These were the 13th and 14th DWI arrests by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in 2014.
