DWI ARRESTS IN CLARENCE AND WALES


January 8, 2011-  Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two local residents by Sheriff’s Road Patrols for Driving While Intoxicated in separate incidents on Wednesday night. 

     While on patrol on Main Street in Clarence, Deputy Lee Richard arrested James R. Schadt (45) of Clarence and charged him with DWI Drugs (narcotic pills) and multiple traffic infractions including Leaving the Scene of a property damage accident after investigating the second of two motor vehicle accidents that Schadt was involved in.  Blood samples were secured at ECMC to determine his exact level of intoxication.  Deputy Richard was assisted with the investigation by Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz who is a certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).  Schadt was processed at the Clarence Substation and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol in Wales, Deputies Michael Okal and Eric Szkatulski arrested Richard J. George (76) of Marilla and charged him with DWI and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation on Rt. 20A nearTwo Rod Road.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .12%.  He was processed at the Elma Substation and released on appearance tickets.
