September 24, 2013- Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard is reporting that the Erie County Sheriff's Office made two DWI arrests overnight. These two arrests are the 227th and 228th DWI arrests for the Erie County Sheriff's Office in 2013.
In the first incident, Deputies Jason Breinlinger and Matthew Krypel responded to a complaint of a vehicle striking a tree. Upon arrival on Versailles Plank Rd. on the Seneca Nation Reservation, the officers determined that the driver, 47 yr. old William Brooks from the Town of Brant, was intoxicated. Mr. Brooks was taken into custody and transported to the Erie County Sheriff's North Collins Substation. Mr. Brooks submitted to a chemical breath test. This test showed Mr. Brooks' blood alcohol content to be .18%, more than twice the legal limit. Mr. Brooks was charged w/ Aggravated DWI due to the high blood alcohol content and other vehicle and traffic charges. Mr. Brooks was released to a third party on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Brant Court at a later date.
In the second incident, Deputies Simon Biegasiewicz and Jason Clark, while working the Strike Force detail, conducted a traffic stop on Schutrum St. in the City of Buffalo after observing a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. The officers found that the driver, 48 yr. old Susan Tresch from the Village of Depew, was intoxicated. Ms. Tresch was taken into custody and transported to the Erie County Sheriff's Grand Island Substation. Ms. Tresch was administered a chemical breath test and her blood alcohol content was found to be .13%. Ms. Tresch was charged w/ DWI and other vehicle and traffic charges and then released to a third party on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the City of Buffalo Court at a later date.
