December 22, 2011- Town of Newstead/SNI - Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of three local residents for Driving While Intoxicated overnight Thursday by Sheriff’s Road Patrols.
While on patrol in the Town of Newstead, Deputy Gene Nati of the Alden Substation arrested two drivers for Driving While Intoxicated. The first was just before midnight Nathan D. Reigle (33) of Akron was stopped on Knapp Rd in Newstead for traffic infractions. Reigle’s interaction with Deputy Nati led to the deputy conducting field sobriety tests. After the testing was completed, Mr. Reigle was charged with DWI. A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .15%. He was processed and released on appearance tickets for Newstead Court. The second arrest by Deputy Nati was about two hours later on Scotland Rd also in the Town of Newstead. As a result of a traffic stop, Todd Poodry (48) was charged with DWI and refused to provide a breath test. As a result of the refusal Deputy Nati completed the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles form to initiate immediate revocation of Mr. Poodry’s license. He was processed and released on appearance tickets.
While patrollingSouthwestern Blvdon the Seneca Nation of Indians Reservation, Deputy Rich O’Neil of the North Collins Substation arrested David A. Gordon (63) ofIrvingand charged him with DWI and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for an unsafe lane change. A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .10%. Mr. Gordon was processed at the North Collins Substation and released on appearance tickets forBrant Town Court.
