December 10, 2011 - Sheriff Tim Howard reports the arrests of two area drivers for DWI:
Deputy Ben Pisa responded to an accident on Salt Road in the Town of Clarence in which a vehicle had gone into the ditch and flipped on its side. While conducting his investigation, Deputy Pisa determined that the driver of the vehicle, 28 year old Greggory E. Dimon of West Seneca, was intoxicated. Dimon was arrested and transported to the Erie County Sheriff's Substation in Clarence where a breath test determined that Dimon's BAC was .10% Dimon was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Clarence Court.
Deputy George Avery was on patrol in the Town of Elma when he stopped a vehicle driven by 61 year old Gary A. Weiss of Elma. During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Avery determined that Weiss was intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to the Erie County Sheriff's substation in Elma where a breath test determined his BAC to be .28%, over three times the legal limit. Weiss' DWI charge was upgraded to a felony due to a previous DWI conviction in the Town of Pembroke in 2006. Weiss was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
