July 17, 2013- Sheriff Tim Howard reports the arrest of a Clarence Center man for Driving While Ability impaired by drugs. This is the 191st DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.
Deputy Gene Nati stopped a vehicle on Goodrich Road in the Town of Clarence for failing to drive on the right side of the road. Further investigation by Deputy Nati assisted by Deputy Mathew Fuqua and an evaluation by Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz, a drug recognition expert,revealed that the 17 year old driver of the vehicle was impaired by drugs.
The subject was taken to ECMC for a blood draw and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and other vehicle and traffic charges. He was then released on an appearance ticket to a third party returnable to Town of Clarence Court at a later date.
