September 26, 2013- Sheriff Tim Howard is announcing the arrest of a Grand Island man for Driving While Intoxicated Drugs.
While on patrol in District 1, Deputy Chris Soluri of the Sheriff's Grand Island sub-station responded to a reckless operation complaint. Deputy Soluri's investigation resulted in the arrest of John S. McGinty, age 55 of Grand Island for Driving While Intoxicated Drugs. Drug Recognition Expert, Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz of the Sheriff's Strike Force Detail evaluated Mr. McGinty. Mr. McGinty did submit to a blood test at Erie County Medical Center.
Mr. McGinty was also charged with PL 220.03 Criminal Possession Of A Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Mr. McGinty was released on Uniform Traffic Tickets and Appearance Tickets to a 3rd party, returnable to Town of Grand Island court at a later date.
This is the 233rd DWI arrest of 2013 for the Erie County Sheriff's Office
