February 7, 2011- Sardinia & Marilla-  Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two local residents for Driving While Intoxicated by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in separate incidents on Tuesday night.

While on patrol in Sardinia, Deputies Jordan Grabar and Don Hoelscher were called to investigate a one car rollover crash on Warner Gulf Road in Sardinia.  After investigating the crash, Hoelscher arrested the driver:  Luke M. Tarnacki (21) of Sardinia and charged him with DWI, Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (Revoked for prior DWI - Drugs arrest), Imprudent Speed,  Failure to Maintain the Roadway, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.  Tarnacki was transported by ambulance to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital for treatment of apparently minor injuries.  Blood samples were secured at the hospital to determine his blood alcohol content.  He was released on appearance tickets for Sardinia Court at the Hospital.

While on patrol on Two Rod Road in Marilla, Deputy Biegasiewicz arrested Aaron W. Lippert (33) of Marilla and charged him with Felony DWI, equipment violations and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation.  The felony charge was filed due to a prior conviction for DWI.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .08%.  He was processed at the Elma Substation and released on appearance tickets.
