Erie County Sheriff Timothy B Howard reports the early morning arrest of a East Aurora man for DWI following a one car accident on Stolle Rd. in the Town of Marilla.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputies Ed Krypel and Russ Tyczka, along with Marilla Fire/Rescue, responded to Stolle Rd. in the Town of Marilla for a report of a pick-up truck which had gone off the road, struck a couple of mailboxes, and rolled over. When Deputies arrived at the scene the driver of the truck was not with the vehicle and an immediate search of the area was conducted.
The owner of the truck and driver, 20 year old Kyle D. Gauthier of Girdle Rd. in East Aurora, was located shortly thereafter just as he entered his residence. Gauthier was found to be intoxicated. First Aid was called to evaluate Gauthier and he was taken by ambulance to ECMC for head pain.
Gauthier was arrested by Deputy Krypel at ECMC for DWI and Gauthier submitted to a blood draw to determine his BAC. He was released on appearance tickets for DWI, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, and other traffic infractions. All of the tickets are returnable in the Town of Marilla Court at a later date.
This was the 101th DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Road Patrol this year.
