Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of an Eden man for Driving While Intoxicated and other charges by Sheriff’s Road Patrols on Sunday afternoon.
While on patrol in Boston at approximately 6:00PM, Deputy Ken Achtyl responded to Mayer Road to investigate the report of a vehicle that crashed into several mailboxes and then a ditch. After investigating the crash, Deputy Achtyl arrested the driver: Nicholas D. Ball (20) of Eden and charged him with DWI, Criminal Mischief (destroying the mailboxes), Operating with Open Alcoholic Beverages, Imprudent Speed, Failure to Maintain the Roadway, and Refusing a Breath Screen Device. Ball was transported by ambulance to ECMC for treatment of apparently minor injuries. Ball refused to submit to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content.
