FELONY DWI IN TOWN OF ELMA

January 8, 2012- Town of Elma- Sheriff Tim Howard reports a felony DWI arrest in the Town of Elma.

Deputy George Avery was on patrol on Transit Road in the Town of Elma when he stopped a speeding vehicle driven by 35 year old Timothy Roche of West Seneca. During the traffic stop, Deputy Avery determined that Roche was intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to the Sheriff's substation in Elma for a breath test. The test revealed Roche's blood alcohol content to be .12%. The DWI charge was upgraded to a felony due to Roche having a previous DWI conviction in April of 2005. Roche will be held at the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment in the Town of Elma Court.
