FIVE DWI ARRESTS OVERNIGHT


April 7, 2012- Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard is announcing the following 5 DWI arrests overnight: While on patrol in Springville at 3:08AM, Deputy Don Hoelscher arrested Andrew J. Lundberg (25) of Glenwood and charged him with DWI and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation on South Cascade Drive.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol level to be .15%.  He was processed at the Springville Substation and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol in Elma at 3:24AM, Deputies John Szczepanski and Rich O’Neil arrested Jeffrey S. Atkinson (20) of East Aurora and charged him with DWI, Open alcoholic beverage container and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation on the Rt. 400 Expressway.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .16%.  He was processed at the Elma Substation and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol in Concord at 3:55AM, Deputy Ben Pisa arrested Joshua J. French (25) of Colden and charged him with Felony DWI, Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Open alcoholic beverage container and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation on Allen Road near Rt. 240.  The felony charges were filed due to French having a prior conviction for DWI in 2010.  French refused all field sobriety testing and refused to submit to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content.  He was processed and transported to the Holding Center to await arraignment on his charges in Concord Court. 

     While on patrol in Cheektowaga at 4:49AM, Deputies Simon Biegasiewicz and Joseph Cottone arrested Joshua P. Beats (20) of Elma and charged him with DWI and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation on Transit Road near William Street.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .16%.  He was processed at the Elma Substation and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation at 5:27AM, Deputies Christopher Soluri and Neil Held responded to a report of a woman passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle while parked at a business on Rt. 5.  After investigating the complaint, the Deputies arrested Nancy L. Scott (43) of Gowanda and charged her with DWI.  Scott refused to submit to a breath test to determine her blood alcohol content.  She was processed at the North Collins Substation and released on appearance tickets.
