FOUR DWI 'S OVER NIGHT


September 26, 2013-   Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of four local drivers for Driving While Intoxicated by Sheriff’s Road Patrols on Wednesday night. 

     While on patrol in Buffalo at approximately 9:30 PM, Deputy Mike Okal arrested William E. Hackett (44) of Buffalo and charged him with DWI, equipment violations and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation on East Delevan Ave.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .16%, twice the legal limit.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol in Buffalo at approximately 10:10PM, Deputies Simon Biegasiewicz and Jason Clark arrested Tabitha R. Schmigel (32) of Lackawanna and charged her with DWI, traffic infractions, driving with open alcoholic beverages, and marihuana possession after stopping her vehicle for equipment violations on Shepard Street.  Schmigel refused to submit to a breath test to determine her blood alcohol content. She was processed and released on appearance tickets. 

            While on patrol in Concord at approximately 10:31PM, Deputies Jason Bouton and Ken Achtyl arrested Jill A. Larosa (46) of Tonawanda and charged her with Aggravated DWI and traffic infractions after investigating citizen complaints about her driving erratically southbound on Rt. 219 towards Springville.  A breath test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .18%, over twice the legal limit.  She was processed and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol in Buffalo at approximately 12:30AM, Deputies Jason Clark and Simon Biegasiewicz arrested Dennis J. Stanek (60) of Depew and charged him with DWI (Drugs), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (suspended license), and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign on Krupp Ave. at Broadway.  Stanek refused to submit to a blood test to determine his level of intoxication.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets.   

     These arrests marked the 229th – 232nd for DWI by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in 2013.
