November 8, 2012- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the late morning arrest of a Grand Island man for DWI-Drugs following his one car accident on West River Rd. in Grand Island.
Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies Ryan Rogers and Chris Ginnane responded to West River Rd. in Grand Island around 10:00am for a reported one car property damage accident, involving the car, guardrail and mailboxes.
Upon arrival, Deputies observed that the car had gone off the shoulder of the road near Staley Rd. and struck the guardrail, then struck a couple mailboxes. Deputies spoke with the driver, 21 y/o Christopher M. Shores of Grand Island, and upon further interview, investigation, and field sobriety tests, determined Shores to be intoxicated by Drugs.
Shores was uninjured and subsequently arrested for DWI-Drugs, Reckless Criminal Mischief, and multiple traffic violations.
Shores was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held pending his arraignment in the Town of Grand Island Court.
Shores vehicle was towed from the scene.
