Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early evening arrest of a Grand Island woman for DWI.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputies Chris Soluri and Dan Milbrandt responded to East River Road on Grand Island at about 8pm Monday night in response to a report from the Grand Island Fire Dept. that 64 year old Pamela D. Detig had just driven up to their training area, which was next door to Detig's residence, and began yelling, arguing and interfering with Fire Dept. personnel and their training.
The Deputies arrived on location and, upon further investigation, found Detig to be intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with DWI. Detig submitted to a chemical breath test which resulted in a reading of .15% BAC, almost twice the legal limit. Her vehicle was towed from the scene and she was later released to a family member with appearance tickets for Grand Island Town Court at a later date.
This was the 59th DWI arrest made by the Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.
