HODLING CENTER DEPUTY ATTACKED BY INMATE


February 28, 2012- City of Buffalo- The Erie County Sheriff’s Office arrested an inmate confined to the Holding Center for felony assault after he attacked a Deputy Sheriff Officer.

On Monday, February 27th, 2012, Inmate Thomas S. Herrmann, age 48, of Longnecker Street, Buffalo, had just returned to the Holding Center from a court appearance. He was being escorted back to his cell when he without warning or provocation, attacked a deputy from behind who in the process of unlocking a gate. The deputy was transported to ECMC after the attack. He was treated for a fracture nose, neck and facial injuries and released. His name is being withheld for security reasons.

Inmate Herrmann was charged with Class-D Felony Assault – he is scheduled to be arraigned in Buffalo City Court.
