LANCASTER MAN ARRESTED FOR DRIVING WHILE ABILITY IMPAIRED BY DRUGS


March 21, 2012- Town of Lancaster- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Lancaster man for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs by Sheriff’s Road Patrols early Wednesday morning.

      While on patrol in Lancaster at about 2:00 AM, Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz arrested Ryan E. Thurnherr (21) of Lancaster and charged him with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 7th degree and traffic infractions.  This arrest was after the deputy stopped Mr. Thurnherr’s vehicle on Como Park Blvd for erratic operation.  Being the Sheriff’s Office Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Deputy Biegasiewicz evaluated Mr. Thurnherr and determined him to be intoxicated.  Blood samples were taken for submission to the lab.  Thurnherr, who was in possession of two suboxone films at the time of arrest, was processed at the Elma Substation and released on appearance tickets.
