Lancaster Man Arrested in Newstead for DWI

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early evening arrest of a Lancaster man for DWI following a traffic stop in the Town of Newstead.

Erie County Sheriff's Deputy David L. Zamorek stopped a vehicle driven by 64 y/o Michael P. Ganczweski of Lancaster on Main Rd. in the Town of Newstead for a traffic violation. After an interview and field sobriety tests, it was determined that Ganczewski was intoxicated; he was arrested and charged with DWI.   Ganczewski submitted to a chemical breath test which resulted in a .09% Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) reading.The vehicle was towed and Ganczewski was later released to a third party with appearance tickets returnable in the Town of Newstead Court at a later date.

This was the 85th DWI by the Erie County Sheriff's Road Patrol this year.
