March 6, 2013- Town of Grand Island- On Tuesday, March 5th, 2013, at about 7:30pm, Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies Brad Girdler and Jason Clark responded to a Town of Grand Island restaurant to investigate a complaint of a male suspect propositioning female employees by offering to pay them money in exchange for sex. While patrols were enroute to the scene, a second complaint was received reporting the male suspect was now soliciting other females for sex in the restaurant parking lot. Upon arrival, the Deputies observed a male matching the suspect’s description walking away from the location. One David Tirko, age 52, of Grand Island Blvd, Grand Island, was subsequently stopped nearby. After an investigation, Tirko was arrested and charged with:
Criminal solicitation in the 5th degree <violation>
Loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution <Class A misdemeanor>
While being processed at the Grand Island Substation, Tirko did continually offer large financial bribes to the Deputies in exchange for releasing him. He was then charged with:
Bribery involving public servants in the 2nd degree <Class C Felony>
David Tirko was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment later today in the Town of Grand Island Court. He is a registered New York State level 3 sex offender stemming from prior sexual abuse conviction involving a female victim.
