August 28, 2012- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Buffalo man (August 26th for misdemeanor marijuana charges and warrant arrest by the Sheriff’s Office Strike Force Unit in the City of Buffalo.
Erie County Sheriff’s Strike Force Deputies Mike Hoock and John Szczepanski observed a suspicious male, 31 y/o James Hill of Burgard Pl in Buffalo, hanging out on a Walden Ave. corner with a few other males. Hill walked into and out of the store on the corner a couple times and when he saw the Sheriff’s patrol, he darted back inside the store, acting very suspiciously.
Deputies entered the store and found Hill ducking down and hiding behind a shelf in the store. Upon discovery, Hill ignored Deputies and began walking away from them, going down different isles. Deputies could detect an odor of marijuana emanating from Hill as he walked around the store. Deputies detained Hill for questioning and Hill admitted having about 2.5 ounces of marijuana on his person.
Hill was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th degree(A Misd). Further investigation found Hill to have an active outstanding arrest warrant out of the City of Buffalo.
Hill was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held pending his arraignment in the City of Buffalo Court and to answer for his warrant.
