MAY 3, 2013- Town of Sardinia- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Town of Sardinia resident for driving while intoxicated, following a three vehicle accident, on Genesee Rd. in the Town of Sardinia. At 5:00 today a motorcycle operated by Thomas J. Jett, age 43, was traveling west bound on Genesee Rd. when it struck the back of a pickup truck, also traveling west bound. The truck was operated by Junior Meyers, age 86, also of the Town of Sardinia. The motorcycle then entered the east bound lane and came in contact with an east bound pickup being driven by Christopher Roche, age 49, of the Town of Holland. Jett was ejected from the motorcycle onto the roadway. Jett was transported to the Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight with multiple injuries.
Jett was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. Jett refused to submit to a test to determine his blood alcohol content. Jett’s driver’s license has been revoked for over eighteen years for a conviction of Driving While Intoxicated on April 10, 1995, in the Town of Concord. His driver’s license is also suspended four times for other offenses. The investigation is continuing with further charges pending. This is the 118 DWI arrest made by The Erie County Sheriff’s Office, this year.
