MULTIPLE DWI ARRESTS


 

 

June 3, 2012-      Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of six people for Driving While Intoxicated at various locations in Erie County by Sheriff’s Road Patrols over the weekend. 

     While on patrol on Broadway Road in Grand Island on Saturday morning at 2:00AM, Deputy Rich O’Neil arrested Richard Planavsky (65) of Grand Island and charged him with DWI and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation.  Planavsky was additionally charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd as he refused to exit his vehicle for Field Sobriety Testing.  Plasavsky refused all sobriety testing and refused to submit to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content.  He was processed at the Grand Island Substation and transported to the Holding Center to await arraignment.  

     While on patrol on Transit Road in Clarence on Saturday morning at 4:15AM, Deputy Lee Richard arrested Kenneth E. Charsley (26) of Amherst and charged him with DWI, traffic infractions, Marihuana Possession, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (suspended Drivers’s License for failure to answer a summons) after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .12%.  He was processed at the Clarence Substation and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol on William Street in Lancaster on Saturday morning at 4:44AM, Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz arrested Sara B. Hackett-Brior (20) of Lancaster and charged her with DWI and traffic infractions after stopping her vehicle for erratic operation.  A breath test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .11%.  She was processed at the Elma Substation and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol in Springville on Saturday afternoon at 6:26PM, Deputy Don Hoelscher was able to locate a vehicle that was involved in a property damage accident in the town of North Collins on Main Street in Springville.  After investigating, Hoelscher arrested the driver of the vehicle:  Dennis R. Hayden (43) of Springville and charged him with DWI and traffic infractions related to the accident in North Collins.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .17%, over twice the legal limit.  He was processed at the Springville Substation and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol on Main Street in Springville on Sunday morning at 1:23 AM, Deputies Jason Bouton and Ashley Vogl arrested Gary D. Maruska (40) of Scottsville and charged him with DWI and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for equipment violations.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .12%.  He was processed at the Springville Substation and released on appearance tickets. 

     While on patrol on Transit Road in Elma on Sunday morning at 4:36AM, Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz arrested Michael J. Knight (39) of West Seneca and charged him with DWI and traffic infractions after stopping his motorcycle for Speeding.  Knight refused to submit to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content.  He was processed at the Elma Substation and released on appearance tickets.
