March 14, 2013- Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard reports that the Sheriffs' office Narcotics Unit arrested Christopher Weigand, 38 years of age and his girlfriend Laurah Nolan 35 of age, both of 1825 Huth Road, Grand Island, New York. Nolans' daughter reported that her mother had cocaine and a marijuana grow at her residence. After the Erie County Sheriffs' Office was advised of this, narcotics detectives did respond to the Huth Road address and find a felony amount of cocaine along with marijuana plants in an eloborate set up at the residence. Both defendants were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, a B felony, criminal possession of a narcotics drug, a C felony, criminal possession of marijuana 3rd degree and E felony, unlawfully growing marijuana, a violation of the public health law an A misdemeanor and two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia, A misdemeanors. Weigand is employed at a Hydroponics store and as a result, had access to top of the line growing equipment. Scales, packaging material were also seized at the residence. Child protective services was notified. Both defendants were taken to the Erie County Holding Center to await arraignment in The Town of Grand Island Court at 3PM on Thursday March 14th at which time Sheriff Howard will also hold a press conference. .
