July 17, 2012- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a City of Buffalo man and woman for narcotics and marijuana following a traffic stop by the Sheriff’s Buffalo Strike Force unit.
Erie County Sheriff’s Buffalo Strike Force Deputies Theresa Nietzel and Dan Zlotek stopped a vehicle for a suspended registration on E. Ferry St. near Humboldt Pkwy. The driver of the vehicle, 35 y/o Pethrod M. Dunnigan of Buffalo, had 8 active suspensions on his driver license. Further investigation found over 2 oz. of marijuana packaged in the vehicle and a small amount of crack cocaine, which Dunnigan admitted to being his.
Dunnigan was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th(A Misd) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th(A Misd), along with his suspended registration and license charges. Dunnigan was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held pending his arraignment in the City of Buffalo Court.
The passenger in the vehicle, 25 y/o Mufyida Burke of Buffalo, had a small amount of marijuana on her person and was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana(Violation). Burke was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the City of Buffalo Court at a later date.
