June 26, 2013- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the following arrests made by Operation Strike Force Deputies working in the City of Buffalo.
On June 25th, at about 10:45pm, Deputies Brandon Stott and Daniel Milbrandt, working the Operation Strike Force Detail, conducted a traffic stop on one Danny F. Ellington, age 50, of French Street, Buffalo, after observing a vehicle and traffic violation on Broadway near Bailey Avenue. A subsequent roadside investigation led to the discovery of suspected crack cocaine. Ellington was also wanted by the Buffalo Police Department on several active warrants. Ellington was transported to the Erie County Holding Center and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and a related traffic charge. He was arraigned today in Buffalo City Court and remanded back to the Erie County Holding Center on $25,000 bail.
Further charges are pending against Ellington after he was found to be in possession of counterfeit money while being processed at the Holding Center.
The Strike Force Deputies also arrested a passenger in Ellington’s vehicle, one Willena Simmons, age 52, of Interpark Street, Buffalo, after a records checked revealed she had an active drug warrant from Buffalo City Court. Simmons was turned over to the Buffalo Police Department.
