September 21, 2012-Sheriff Tim Howard reports that Sheriff's deputies made two DWI arrest overnight.
In the first incident, Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 26 year old Joshua H. Tschari of Williamsville for various violations after Tschari drove his vehicle across a grass median and drove in circles before stopping. After several field sobriety tests, Deputy Biegasiewicz found Tschari to be intoxicated. Tschari was arrested for aggravated DWI after a breath test revealed his blood alcohol content was .26% over 3 times the legal limit. He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.
In the Town of Amherst, just two hours later, Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz stopped a car driven by 19 year old Connor C. Dougherty of East Amherst after he struck a mailbox with his vehicle. After further investigation, Dougherty was found to be intoxicated. He was issued traffic tickets for his erratic driving and was arreste for DWI. Dougherty was taken to the Erie County Holding Center on $250.00 bail.
