Sheriff’s Warrant Team executed 11 Warrants, Arrested 5 Subjects
Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announces the successful completion of the 16th Annual National Family Violence Apprehension Warrant Sweep on Wednesday, October 17.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office Civil Enforcement Division conducted the Family Court warrant sweep and searched throughout the City of Buffalo and Erie County for individuals wanted on active Domestic Violence and Family Court warrants.
Deputies arrested five subjects while executing a combined eleven warrants:
• 24-year-old James Murphy from Buffalo, on a Family Court Child Support warrant and five additional warrants, including two out of Buffalo for aggravated unlicensed operation, one warrant out of Cheektowaga for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance, one warrant out of Tonawanda for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance, and one warrant out of West Seneca for petit larceny.
• Lindsay Combs, 38, of Buffalo, on a Family Court Child Neglect warrant.
• 39-year-old Bradley Hickok of Buffalo, on a Family Court Child Support warrant.
• Christopher Dietrich, 37, of Buffalo, on a Family Court Child Support warrant.
• 33-year-old Justin Smith of Buffalo, on a two Family Court warrants: one Family Court Paternity warrant and one Family Court Child Support warrant.
Defendants Murphy and Hickok were remanded to the Erie County Holding Center while the remaining defendants were released following court proceedings.
The Sheriff’s Office participated in the Annual National Family Violence Apprehension detail along with approximately 150 other law enforcement agencies throughout the country. These details are a daylong event where agencies across the United States attempt to serve outstanding family-violence warrants. Last year, law enforcement agencies from 36 different states participated.
Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies are continuing to work on outstanding warrants and are confident that intelligence gathered during the sweep will lead to several more arrests in the following days and weeks.
