Deputies Track Down Erratic Driver and Arrest Two in Clarence
Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies made three impaired driving arrests.
June 7, 12:09 P.M., Town of Sardinia – Deputies Jones and Ely were dispatched to locate a vehicle that was swerving and nearly struck oncoming vehicles in the opposite lane on Route 16 in Holland.
Deputy Ely located the vehicle on Savage Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver showed signs of impairment and the operator was evaluated by Drug Recognition Expert Deputy Biegasiewicz. Following the DRE evaluation, Dustin Washington, 28, of Olean was arrested and charged with DWI-Drugs and released to a family member.
June 7, 9:30 P.M., Town of Clarence – Robert Snow, 30, of Hamburg was arrested and charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding following a traffic stop on Main Street. Snow registered a BAC level more than one and a half times the legal limit. The defendant was later released to a sober third party.
June 8, 2:44 A.M., Town of Clarence – Deputy Rozycki responded to 5817 Transit Road following a report from the Amherst Police Department about a vehicle off the roadway. When Deputy Rozycki initiated an investigation, however, Paul Lavoie, 51, of Williamsville refused to submit to the Deputy’s tests. Lavoie was arrested and charged with DWI and later released.
