Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two Buffalo residents following a traffic stop conducted by Deputy Zamorek on Route 16 in the Town of Holland around 11:20 P.M. Wednesday; when stopped, the operator fled into the woods.

The deputy pursued and captured Jamie Wilson, 47, of Buffalo; during the pursuit, the suspect was observed throwing items from his person.  Later a Sheriff’s K9 Unit, Deputy Szkatulski and Monty, began a search of the pursuit trail and the K9 team found packages of heroin in the woods.  Simultaneous to the pursuit, Deputy Bauer arrived at the scene and placed the passenger, Jenna Shoup, 26, of Buffalo into custody.

The Deputies’ investigation concluded with both defendants charged with criminal possession of heroin and drug-related misdemeanor charges.  Additionally, Wilson is charged with a felony count of destroying evidence and misdemeanor counts of obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, and various vehicle and traffic violations.

Both defendants are housed at the Erie County Holding Center pending their arraignment in Holland Town Court.
