Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that Deputies Breinlinger and Keem arrested 20-year-old Vincent Thompson of Collins following an investigation of a suspicious vehicle parked in the road.

On July 27 at 1:00 A.M., Deputies observed a vehicle parked in the middle of Versailles Plank Road in the Town of Brant.  When they approached the vehicle, they saw Thompson sleeping behind the steering wheel. After the Deputies woke the subject and had him exit the vehicle, they detected the strong odor of alcohol and marijuana.  Also, the Deputies observed a bag of marijuana in a driver side door compartment.

Thompson failed multiple standard field sobriety tests and registered a BAC level above the legal limit.  He was charged with DWI, operating a vehicle with a BAC of .08% or more and criminal possession of marijuana - more than 25 grams.

The defendant was released on tickets and has a future court appearance in Brant Town Court.
