Two Time DWI Offender and Crack Cocaine Discovered During Stops 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies made two felony DWI arrests during the overnight. 

November 13, 11:44 P.M., Town of Clarence – Deputy Zamorek stopped a vehicle on Main Street near Thompson Road for vehicle and traffic law violations.  After failing standard field sobriety tests and registering a BAC of more than twice the legal limit, Amanda Luke – 32 of Clarence, was arrested and charged with felony DWI – previous DWI conviction within 10-years, and two vehicle and traffic violations.  The defendant is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending her arraignment in Clarence Town Court on Tuesday. 

November 14, 3:52 P.M., City of Buffalo – Deputy Kuhn stopped a vehicle on Interstate 190 near the Louisiana Street exit after observing a vehicle nearly crashing into a Jersey barrier.  The driver displayed multiple signs of intoxication but refused to submit to any test and subsequently was arrested for DWI.  Following the arrest, the Deputy discovered a felony amount of crack cocaine in Felix Vellon’s possession, and he was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Vellon, 32 of Buffalo, was also operating a vehicle with a suspended license and a felony charge of aggravated unlicensed operation was added.  The defendant was released on his own recognizance following his arraignment in Buffalo City Court.
