Negron

Subject Attempted to Eat Marijuana, had Stun Gun & Knife in Purse

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of Amanda Negron, 30, of Buffalo following a traffic stop on Whitehaven Road in Grand Island Tuesday evening.

Deputy Day stopped a vehicle operated by Tracie Moore, 54, of Buffalo at approximately 6:30 P.M. for vehicle and traffic law violations.  It was discovered Moore did not have a valid license and when the Deputy asked the passenger for identification, the passenger could not produce any; instead she offered a name and date of birth.  The Deputy could positively identify the passenger as Amanda Negron, different from the name and date of birth she provided.

Negron was arrested for false personation and transported to the Erie County Holding Center.  While in custody, Deputy Rogers noticed Negron trying to conceal and eat a bag of marijuana and Deputies at the holding center discovered additional marijuana in a secreted area of her clothing.  A continued search at the jail discovered a metal knuckle knife and a stun gun in Negron’s purse.

Negron was then charged with a felony count of tampering with evidence, two misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana.  She remains at the holding center pending her arraignment on February 8.

The driver was issued tickets and released at the original scene and the rental car was towed.
