Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Crash Investigation Unit responded to a motor vehicle crash involving an all-terrain vehicle on July 7th at 6:10 P.M. in the Town of North Collins. 

When Deputies arrived, the driver and passengers of the vehicle were uninjured.  The operator of the all-terrain vehicle was transported by ground ambulance to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital for immediate treatment and later transported by Mercy Flight to the John Oishei Children’s Hospital.  The operator of the all-terrain vehicle, 11-year-old Sidney Sidote later succumbed to her injuries at Children’s Hospital. 

The operator of the motor vehicle is cooperating with deputies and the crash is still under investigation.
