3 Alcohol Related DWI Arrests and a DWI-Drugs Arrest

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies made four DWI arrests which involved drugs or alcohol.

July 13, 10:00 P.M., Town of Marilla – Sergeant Klimowicz and Deputy Biegasiewicz responded to a rear-end collision on Clinton Street.  Brian Wyntjes, 52, of West Seneca, showed signs of intoxication and Deputies administered standard field sobriety tests, which Wyntjes failed, and a breath test.  The breath test results indicated the subject had a BAC level of more than one and a half times the legal limit.  The Deputies’ investigation also discovered Wyntjes’ driver’s license is suspended for failing to answer a summons in Buffalo.

Wyntjes is charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and two vehicle and traffic violations.  The defendant was released with tickets and faces a future court date.

July 13, 11:02 P.M., Town of Grand Island – Deputy Zamorek stopped Niagara Falls resident Sharese Robertson, 43 years old, for vehicle and traffic violations on White Haven Road.  Upon completion of the Deputy’s investigation, Robertson was charged with DWI, refusing to take a breath test and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.  She was issued tickets and released to a sober third party.

July 14, 1:52 A.M., City of Buffalo – Jennifer Gumulak was stopped by Deputy Zamorek for vehicle and traffic violations on the Scajaquada Expressway near the Grant Street exit.  Deputy Zamorek's investigation determined Gumulak, 23, of West Seneca, was impaired by drugs and she possessed numerous types of medications not in the original containers.

Gumulak is charged with six counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, DWI-Drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, possessing a controlled substance not in the original container, and three separate vehicle and traffic infractions.  The defendant was issued tickets and released.

July 14, 2:20 A.M., Town of West Seneca – Deputy Hoffman stopped a vehicle operated by Jacob Young, 25, of West Seneca, for traveling 73 mph in a posted 45 mph speed zone on Transit Road.  Young’s breath test results indicated a BAC level more than twice the legal limit, and he was arrested.  The defendant is charged with DWI, speeding, and an unsafe lane change.  Young was later released.
