Suspect Gas Station Robbery Id Through Crime Stoppers

 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Michael Church of Buffalo for an armed robbery of a gas station in Grand Island on July 14. 

Numerous tips were received through the Crime Stoppers tip line which assisted Detectives in developing information for the identity of the suspect and his location.  Then, Detectives executed a search warrant at his residence on Military Road in the City of Buffalo, and during the search, Detectives discovered evidence that connected the suspect to the Grand Island armed robbery. 

On July 21, Detectives learned of the suspect’s location and arrested Church, 39-years-old at a family member’s residence.  Church is charged with 1st-degree robbery, a class-B felony, and misdemeanor menacing and petit larceny counts. 

The defendant is held at the Erie County Holding Center on $50,000.00 cash bail or $100,000.00 bond. 

Church is a suspect in other armed robberies in the area.
