While in Custody Subject Tried to Eat Additional Drugs

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies Day and Rogers stopped a vehicle on Whitehaven Road at approximately 11:45 P.M. for a vehicle and traffic violation.  During their investigation, the Deputies discovered, Aramis Fournier, 34, of Niagara Falls was operating a vehicle while his driver’s license is suspended and that he had an active warrant.

Following his arrest, the Deputies searched the vehicle and located a controlled substance, ALZA.  Fournier is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation and an equipment violation.

While in custody, the Deputies observed the defendant attempting to ingest a white paste.  An initial test indicated the substance was an opiate derivative.

Fournier was then additionally charged with tampering with evidence and a second criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

The defendant is housed at the Erie County Holding Center on $500.00 bail.
