Inmate Chapman Facing Additional Criminal and Administrative Charges
Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports a Deputy was attacked by inmate Jamell Chapman the morning of March 3, as the Deputy was conducting security rounds.
As the Deputy passed the inmate, Chapman threw the human excrement onto him and struck him on the face and upper torso.
The inmate faces separate criminal and administrative charges from the February 23 incident where Deputies found two shivs in his cell. Chapman, 26 of Niagara Falls, is being held at the holding center without bail for robbery and murder-related charges from Buffalo Police.
The Deputy’s name is being withheld, and the incident remains under investigation.
